. . . and I am grateful for all the prayers and support in preparing to leave and finally making it to Black Forest Academy. I am still a little tired, but I can clearly see the immediate needs here. I am taking over a class where the teacher had to leave back in October, and the current department head just had knee surgery. Everyone is still doing a great job, but the students seem thankful that I can focus my full time with them, especially since it is an AP level class.
As for settling in, I came straight to my studio apartment from the airport and I am enjoying the cozy quarters (about 50 sq meters), with a toaster oven, a mini-frig, and washing machine that is also a dryer! I am not complaining – I am surrounded by pictures and memories of my family, and I recall the amazing love that you have all expressed in sending me forward to this ministry.
I won’t bore you with all the administrative tasks in moving to a foreign country, so I will pass on that I have already attended the students chapel service this afternoon, I was invited for a hike tomorrow morning, and tomorrow evening will be the second dinner to which I was invited. I know there will be challenging times adjusting to this new season, but know that God will protect and cause me to grow through this experience of obedience to Him.
Blessings.
