2nd Semester Begins in Two Days . . .

. . . and I am finalizing my lesson plans. I already had the pleasure of meeting with some of my students and I am so encouraged by their attitude and willingness to learn. Just running into other students in the halls, I was surprised at their freedom to talk with me and share a little bit about themselves. I have mostly seen this kind of maturity in kids from military families, but it should not be surprising that the kids from missionary families would have similar maturity and general kindness.  No, they are not perfect, but they certainly will be responsive to instruction and willing to learn.

The rest of the week was spent in getting caught up in producing/organizing unit plans and the actual lessons which start on Monday for the new semester.  I am thankful for this opportunity and pray for diligence to be fully prepared.  Little things like getting the right key for the computer room, connecting my laptop to the classroom projector system, and learning how to use the copier cannot be overstated, but the other teachers and school administration has been incredibly supportive.

Other activities have been travelling up to Ramstein AFB for American shopping, getting my German cell phone line, and attending a small prayer group on Friday morning (this should be regular).  I plan on getting my newsletter out next weekend, so I won’t have a post then, and you will probably see some of the same information as I communicate out to my broader base of friends and family.  The newsletter will also be an opportunity for you to see some photos which I will include there.  As always, I appreciate your prayers and support.  Blessings to you.
